Stavros Tsormpatzoglou

Attorney at law LL.M. / Financial Mediator

Stavros Tsormpatzoglou is an Attorney-at-law and Accredited Mediator (Hellenic Ministry of Justice member No.29), with in-depth knowledge of dispute resolution techniques in domestic and cross-border commercial and civil law disputes. ADR Specialist (Negotiation, Arbitration, Mediation).

He participated as a Member of the Law Preparatory Committee for the reform of Law 3598/2010 regarding Mediation in domestic commercial and civil law disputes (Law 4512/2108). He then served as a member of the Central Mediation Committee of the Hellenic Ministry of Justice for the Supervision and implementation of Mediation Law 4512/2108, as well as of Mediation Law 4640/2019. Former member of the Committee for the Examination of Mediators, the Accreditation Committee of Mediation Training Bodies, and the Register Committee of Mediators. Former Director for Vocational Education and Training regarding Mediation at Panteion University Mediation Institute.

He holds an LL.M. from the International Hellenic University in “Transnational and European Commercial Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution”, specializing in arbitration and mediation (thesis subject: “Compulsory Mediation: A contradiction?”). Furthermore, he has been trained in mediation by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London), as well as the Harvard Negotiation Institute (Boston).

Extensive experience in the process of transforming data into insights to improve business decisions. Data management, data visualization, predictive modeling, data mining, forecasting simulation, and optimization are some of the tools used to create insights from data. Able to build deep competency in the skills needed to implement and oversee data-driven business decisions, including (i) collecting, managing and describing datasets, (ii) forming inferences and predictions from data, and (iii) making optimal and robust decisions.

Professional Experience

Loukas Spanos is an ESG and sustainability professional, economist, and accredited mediator with extensive experience in corporate sustainability, ESG, corporate governance, and public policy. He is currently ESG Manager at Qualco Group, listed on Euronext Athens, where he leads the Group’s ESG strategy and CSRD/ESRS reporting across subsidiaries. He has served as Senior ESG Expert in projects with the Council of Europe Development Bank and as an ESG consultant for organisations in Greece and abroad, focusing on ESG monitoring frameworks, ESG metrics and executive training. He has also held senior institutional roles, including Director of the Hellenic Financial Mediation Center and Special Sustainability Advisor to the Chair of the Board of the National Bank of Greece.

Earlier in his career, Loukas served as Head of Office to Greek Ministers, including at the Ministries of Labour and Economy, and held senior advisory positions in the Greek Government and the Hellenic Parliament. In these roles, he was involved in policy coordination, legislative initiatives, structural reforms and institutional engagement, including work connected with the Troika / international institutions and reform implementation. Loukas holds a BA in Economics from the University of Athens and two master’s degrees: in Applied Economics & Finance from the University of Athens and in Climate Risk & ICT from the University of Piraeus. He has completed professional certifications in ESG Investing by the CFA Institute and Sustainability & Climate Risk by GARP. He has teaching experience in ESG, corporate governance and finance, and has published in international scientific journals on corporate governance and sustainability-related topics.
